Lately I have been trying out a lot of different lip combos AKA different variations of Nudes and Mauves but have been desperately wanting to start wearing a red lip more often. My favorite person in the world (Kahlana Barfield Brown) wears a red lip all the time, it’s her signature and because I aspire to be her / have a similar skin complexion, I started to get it out of my head that a red lip doesn’t look good on me.

The problem hasn’t been that a red lip doesn’t look great on me of course, the problem is that I hadn’t found the right one and trust me, I’ve tried them all! I literally went to MAC and tried every red possible (sans the cult favorite Ruby Woo because it was sold out), and I left feeling completely defeated. I did recently find a red lip that is amazing which is the NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Star Woman, but I wanted to have another one on backup in case I ran out of the NARS or just wasn’t feeling it anymore. Insert Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. This red literally looks great on everyone… every… one, and if you don’t believe me, you can search the web for the various photos of women in all different skin tones wearing it. That’s what made me go pay $24 for a lip color (something I’d never do) without ever seeing it in person or trying it on in the store.

I’ve worn this a few times and I’ll have to say it’s very close to the perfect read. It’s a great daytime and nighttime red, which I love because I think with reds, sometimes you find them better suited for a sexy nighttime look, but you find quite the opposite here. The one thing I love most is that it’s long lasting and only takes one coat to fully coat your lips (which makes the $24 worth it for me). I wore this for the first time to a football game and drank lots of beer and ate nachos and hot dogs without having to reapply. I know some people have complained that the lip paint smudges a bit on them, but I haven’t experienced this issue.

When Fenty Beauty first released, the Gloss Bomb was the first and only lip product in its release. I believe I wrote about this too, but I typically don’t wear a gloss because I hate that thick, sticky feel, but this one is still perfect to me. It’s hydrating, and is perfect for both day and nighttime looks. I usually wear it during the day by itself, and add a brown liner when I’m wearing it as a nighttime look and the transition is seamless.

I know both these lip products will be my go to’s moving forward, because I love products that I can transition and not have to give it much though. And ladies, we know it’s a pain wiping off lip color, putting on a new one, touching up our makeup around the mouth and having to make sure there’s no semblance of the last shade there. It’s annoying!

If you’re looking for lippies that you can pop in your purse and transition from day to night if you’re on the go and going to be out and about all day, I’ll say you for sure need to try these.

What are some of your favorite Fenty Beauty products? And some of your favorite transitional lippies?
